In observance of Anti-Ragging Day on 12 August, followed by Anti-Ragging Week from 12 to 18 August, the UGC and Centre for Youth (C4Y), the UGC National Anti-Ragging Monitoring Agency, suggest the following activities during these celebrations:
- Use the hashtag #YaARIYouthAgainstRagging in all your activities and social media posts related to celebrating Anti-Ragging Day/Week, and tag UGC and C4Y.
- Post anti-ragging video messages from the head of your institution on your social media and official website.
- Kindly organise the activities as suggested in the UGC's earlier letter dated 8 July 2024 i.e. (i) Introduction/Orientation programme, (ii) Competitions (slogan & essay writing, poster making, and logo designing on Anti-Ragging), (iii)Anti-Ragging workshops, seminars and other creative avenues and (iv) Shown TVCs, short films and documentary movies to students and faculty.
- The celebration activities can also be held throughout the entire month, depending on student's availability on campus.
- Institutes with more awareness activities will be appreciated and applauded.
- Please share the details of these activities on the anti-ragging website ( https://www.antiragging.in/action-taken-on-celebration-of-anti-ragging-day.php
- UGC and C4Y are organising a National Contest 2024 for students: Contest 1 - Instagram Threads Digital Poster Making; Contest 2 - Instagram Reel Making; and Contest 3 - YouTube Video. Please disseminate this information among your students and encourage their participation. Download the National Contest 2024 Poster.
- Selfie Corner Stand designs have been created for you to print, and for this, you may consider designating an Anti-Ragging Selfie Corner in a prominent location on your campus.
- To facilitate this, UGC creative designs for Anti-Ragging Day/Week: (i) Celebration Creatives, (ii) National Contest 2024 Poster, and (iii) Selfie Stand Designs can be accessed here.
- Kindly forward this advisory to all the colleges within your jurisdiction to celebrate Anti-Ragging Day/Week accordingly.

How to Submit: Upload your contest Reel, Video, or Digital Poster with the hashtag #YaARIYouthAgainstRagging and tag @c4yindia (Instagram and Threads) & Centre for Youth (YouTube) in all your submissions
Deadline: Sunday, 18 August 2024
Eligibility: Open to all students enrolled in Higher Education Institutions in India (Universities, Colleges, and Institutes). Each participant may submit only one entry per contest.
Language: Reels and Videos can be in any Indian language with English subtitles. Digital posters in portrait orientation must be in English only.
Selection Criteria: Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, positive and authentic content, relevance to the hashtag (theme), and the number of likes and views.
Eminent Jury: The top three winners in each category will be chosen by a distinguished panel of judges.
Accolades: Top entries will be featured on the National Anti-Ragging website (www.antiragging.in) to raise awareness about curbing ragging. E-certificates will be awarded to the shortlisted entries and the winners will receive certificates and trophies.
Announcements: Shortlisted participants will be announced on 26 August, and winners on 30 August.
