ANTI-RAGGING DAY & WEEK CELEBRATION 2026

Celebrating Anti-Ragging Day on 12 August and Anti-Ragging Week 12 - 18 August
In observance of Anti-Ragging Day on 12 August, followed by Anti-Ragging Week from 12 to 18 August, the UGC and Centre for Youth (C4Y), the UGC National Anti-Ragging Monitoring Agency, suggest the following awareness activities:
- Use the hashtag #YaARIYouthAgainstRagging in all your awareness activities and social media campaigns & posts related to celebrating Anti-Ragging Day/Week, and tag UGC and C4Y.
- Conduct social media campaigns, post activities, and video messages by the head of the institution to disseminate Anti-Ragging messages on the institution's website and social media platforms.
- Organise the following activities :
- Inaugural ceremonies,
- Competitions (Slogan writing, essay writing, poster making, logo designing, street play performances, photography, quiz competitions, debates, and more on Anti-Ragging themes),
- Anti-Ragging workshops, seminars, interactive sessions and other creative avenues,
- Screening of short films/ TVCs to the students and faculty.
- Selfie Corner Stand designs have been created for you to print, and for this, you may consider designating an Anti-Ragging Selfie Corner in a prominent location on your campus.
- To facilitate these awareness activities, the creative designs for Anti-Ragging Day/Week: Banners, Social Media Creatives, Selfie Stand designs can be accessed and downloaded from the Anti-Ragging website.
- HEIs are also advised to share, inform, and engage students, faculty, and non-teaching staff for their active participation.
- The Anti-Ragging Day/Week activities can also be held throughout the entire month, depending on student's availability on campus.
- HEIs with a greater number of awareness and innovative activities will be appreciated and applauded.
- Kindly forward this advisory to all the colleges within your jurisdiction to organise Anti-Ragging Day/Week activities accordingly.
- The Action Taken Report on the activities conducted and participation during the Anti-Ragging Day/Week may please be submitted on the Anti-Ragging website (Submit Your Action Taken Report Here).

National Pledge Against Ragging
We, the members of India's higher education community, solemnly pledge to uphold the dignity and safety of every student. We commit to fostering campuses free from fear, discrimination, and harassment. We reject all forms of ragging-physical, verbal, psychological, or digital-and vow to act against it with courage and integrity. We pledge to support victims, report violations, and ensure full compliance with the UGC's anti-ragging regulations. Together, we stand for respect, inclusion, and justice for every student in every institution across India.
रैगिंग के विरुद्ध राष्ट्रीय संकल्प
हम, भारत की उच्च शिक्षा समुदाय के सदस्य, प्रत्येक छात्र की गरिमा और सुरक्षा बनाए रखने का संकल्प लेते हैं। हम भय, भेदभाव और उत्पीड़न से मुक्त परिसरों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं। हम रैगिंग के सभी रूपों-शारीरिक, मौखिक, मानसिक या डिजिटल-का दृढ़ता से विरोध करते हैं और साहस व ईमानदारी के साथ इसके विरुद्ध कार्य करने का संकल्प लेते हैं। हम पीड़ितों का समर्थन करने, उल्लंघनों की रिपोर्ट करने और यूजीसी की रैगिंग-रोधी विनियमों का पूर्ण अनुपालन सुनिश्चित करने का वचन देते हैं। हम सम्मान, समावेशन और भारत के प्रत्येक छात्र के लिए न्याय के लिए एकजुट होकर खड़े हैं।

I firmly pledge to uphold dignity, safety and mutual respect within my campus community. I commit to creating an environment free from fear, discrimination and harassment. I reject all forms of ragging-physical, verbal, psychological or digital-and vow to act against it with courage and integrity. I pledge to support those affected by ragging, report violations and comply fully with the UGC anti-ragging regulations. I stand for respect, inclusion and justice, and will contribute to building a safe, supportive and ragging-free campus.
